ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was born with a large vascular malformation that causes inflammation in my entire leg, I have had sclerotherapy in my early 20s with little results and more recently have had ablation and more sclerotherapy resulting in more over all swelling and pain. Now in my 50s the heaviness in my leg is exhausting and I have been dealing with nerve pain in my feet, diagnosed with tarsal tunnel and pain in my knee. Doctors have said I have hemangioma or vascular malformation. One described having a bag of worms in my knee, being a large vascular mass in my knee area, I was told that nothing can be done with it. The vein loops around and goes back into the vein and the vein is to large. Celebrex seemed to be the only thing to help with the swelling but not all of it. I have tried multiple pain meds but most didn't touch the pain or I had bad side effects. Compression stockings only helped for an hour after that it caused more pain, unless I went for a lighter one.
I guess my biggest concern is not knowing what Doctor to see, for regular check ups. I also have multiple fatty tumors some in big ones in my arm and for the past year one in my leg and recently a second one in my thigh. The clinic I went to didn't even catch the large vascular tumor in my knee and thigh area and still did procedures. I went to a interventionional radiologist who saw the anomaly and they did an Angiogram and that's where they said the viens were to big to be able to do anything with. And highly recommended not to have anyone attempt it unless they have done it many times with success . It hurts to sit to long and hurts to stand to long, and my baby toe and feet hurt to walk on. not fun for sure
