Myasthenia Gravis; Drooping eye lid and light sensitivity led trouble walking.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
No cure for Myasthenia Gravis? Symptoms started 18 years ago with sensitivity to light. Symptoms began to worsen with double vision. I developed weakness in my leg muscles and fingers. 1st doctor diagnosed me with Myasthenia Gravis. I have been on Prednisone for these 18 years to eliminate my immune system to manage symptoms. 1st doctor had no alternate treatment. So I opted for second opinion. 2nd doctor put me on Azathioprine along with Prednisone to ween me of the high doses of Prednisone. Prednisone weaks havoc on your bone density. So I am on Alendronate Sodium 70mg/week to counter the Osteopenia. I had slight bout with Bells Palsy early on. Thymus gland removed. When I get to lower doses of Prednisone my muscle weakness comes back. Not to mention I easily get sick with a suppressed immune system. Looking for a cure. How long can a body survive on Prednisone?
