Femoral Nerve Shutdown- After having surgery on Rt knee, femoral nerve shut down. Took 2.5 years to come back. Now down in L. Knee. Not back
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
After getting the OATS procedure on my right knee, my femoral nerve shut down. Took me 4 months to walk again, but I still had no quad and severe muscle apathy. Went to neurologists, disease specialists, etc. but no one could figure out why. It took 2.5 years to come back. Then about three years after that, the femoral nerve shut down in my left leg. This time no surgery was completed. It randomly shut down. Again I have no quad muscle and muscle apathy. It has been hard to walk up and down stairs, bear weight on my legs, and complete everyday life. I used to run and completed a 1/2 marathons and a few triathlons. I was a college athlete. It has been very frustrating the last four years. I feel like I have lost a huge part of my life.
