ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
In 2018 I started to feel not well and went to my PCM and a MRI was ordered. It was determined that I had Empty Stella Syndrome. My doctor shrugged it off and sent me on my way. My symptoms got worse and I found a neurologist who ordered a lumbar puncture. Before I had the LP done, i went to see a eye doctor who diagnosed me with palpilldema. When I had the LP my opening pressure was 32. A few weeks after the LP my peripheral vision started to go. My neurologist had me admitted to the hospital and I had a VP shunt placed. Things didn't go according to plan and in December of 2018 I had a VP shunt revision. As I write this, it is August 2019. I still have the shunt that was placed in Dec. but I am still taking Diamox and Topamax for the pressure. Nobody can tell me why I have pseudotumor cerebri. When I was 18, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and ended up having a total hysterectomy. No doctor will test my hormones and I dont know if Empty Stella Syndrome plays into them. PLEASE HELP ME!! I feel like my body is just giving up on me!
