- CASE FILE
I've been experiencing face / tongue, hand and feet swelling since 2005. I have been to an allergist and they have called it angioedema.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Angioedema? The Dr. had me on a regiment of prednisone, 2 zyrtec, 2 zantac daily as a histamine blocker. Nothing other than a direct steroid shot would stop the swelling and I still have to have a empi-pen on me at all times. I saw todays episode with HAE and I am wondering if that may be my problem. At first the doctor said it was an allergic reaction but no responses were noted from the 95 needle testing done at the allergist. I have woken up several times not knowing if I would be able to breath because my tongue was so swollen I couldn't close my mouth or swallow. I went to the emergency room and it has always been the same story, steroids. I want to know whats causing this. It causes my face, lips, tongue, hands and feet to swell until the feel like they will burst, please help. 14 years of pain, I just want an answer. I am an adult male 49 years of age. No history of this with any living relatives.
