ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was told that I have diabetes 1.5 with insulin resistance. I am on several pills for the diabetes and I tale 2 types of shot insulin's. I am on Metformin, Januvia, and Pioglitazone for pills and Tresiba and Humulin R-500 for the shots. For some weeks my sugars are 200 to 300+ others I can be 500 to over 700. Just a couple months ago I had a A1C of over 14. I was able to get it back down to 10.? but had gained over 30 lbs. in 1 month. My U-500 insulin I am taking 100 units at each meal, plus taking 100-125 units of the Tresiba. My doctor want's me to test 5 times a day due to such high meds. My insurance only covers testing 3 times a day which since I don't test before I go to bed I have had several lows that so far I have luckily woken up for. My concerns are all the meds. and the insulin resistance. I weighed 180lbs. but just recently hit 220 and now about 200.
