Stumping doctor after doctor and undergoing multiple unsuccessful surgeries, I still live in pain daily. They are unsure how to help?
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My lowest disc completely ruptured dropping my spin, popping my pelvis out of place, and slightly severing my sciatic around 2013. I had back surgery to add a cage and two rods in place of where the disc should be. Since then, things have went down hill, I now have two ribs that constantly stay popped out of place. And was even told I may have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which has never been confirmed or dismissed. I attempted to go back to the physician that preformed the surgery, but he refused to see me? Almost as if he knew something was wrong? This now causes numbness and swelling on my right side constantly. Occasionally, I loose a majority of the feeling in that leg after hours of shooting pain. In addition within the last two years(18-19). I have had to have two surgeries on my right arm/shoulder. My right arm now swells, turns discolored, and numb as well. Because of this, I was sent to a shoulder specialist to try to figure out the issue. I was first given a surgery to repair some tears in my labrum; which actually made the symptoms worse. Then after a scan that showed a collapsed vein, I was given a second surgery to remove a small portion of the muscle in my upper right arm trying to eliminate the pinch. This did not result in any change. The vein still appears to be pinched and some doctors have suggested that I may have a rare issue they called Axillary Vein Compress Syndrome. However, no doctor that I have seen can be sure or knows how to treat. I have been passed from place to place with no luck. The only partial relief I can get is from taking a blood pressure medication prescribed by a cardiologist that somewhat helps the arm to push the blood flow back up from my hand and slightly through the collapsed portion. My full right side of my body brings constant pain and limits me. Every doctor that has looked at my case throws their hands up and passes me to someone else to try. The most recent option I was referred to is the Mayo Clinic in Florida. They are supposed to be great with vein and nerve issues, but usually work within legs. However, being a single mom of an autistic daughter, already drowning in medical bills, I can’t afford to travel and try that option at this point in time. If there is any other suggestions that may help, it would be greatly appreciated. I am only in my thirties, pain like this for decades would be unbearable. Thanks.
