- CASE FILE
We are two sisters, 3 years apart in age that were diagnosed with the same chronic illness within 2 weeks of each other.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
We were both diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis, GERD. One of us got a second opinion with a diagnosis of gastroparesis. We have symptoms of MS. We had brain MRI’s both showing white lesions. Multiple trips to the ER saying we have Gastritis. Tons of blood tests that come back clear with no evidence of pancreatic enzyme insufficiency. CT scans showing clear pancreas. We have both been on and off GERD medication. Doctors protocol for eating specific diets did not help. No matter what we eat it hurts. Major weight loss and malabsorption has occurred and is ongoing. We have been suffering side by side for 3 years with all of the same symptoms and were diagnosed within 2 weeks of each other. We had a gallbladder function test done that showed our gallbladders were not functioning. We both had our gallbladders removed the same day, one right after the other and recovered overnight in the hospital in the same room. We still suffer. We both had partial hysterectomy one year apart, leaving our ovaries and became sick about 5 years after. We feel as though we have autoimmune disorders. We don’t like taking medication if we don’t have to and the doctors just want us to take depression medicine to deal with the pain. It has and continues to be life altering and we feel like there is no hope for answers. We have plenty more symptoms that the symptoms list does not show. Neuropathy in feet and hands, moments of slurred speech and unfamiliar surroundings. Many more symptoms are ongoing and we just want answers.
