ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
December of 2018, I started developing hives on my arms. When I went to the doctor, he told me I must have had an allergic reaction. I’m allergic to Benadryl, so he put me on a 7 day steroid which cause my rash/hives to spread all over my body. He put me on allergy meds and sent me to a specialist for a full allergy test. I had blood work done and everything came back negative. The specialist switched my meds. In 2 days, my whole face swelled up and I ended up in the ER. they then tested my thyroid which came back normal. I have ended up in the Er 4 times because my face starts to swell. Since December I have had hives all over my body, and gained 20 pounds. Which has cause me to have high cholesterol I’m on 2 different meds and get shots monthly and still no one knows what’s going on. They just diagnosed me with chronic hives. My doctor thinks it’s an autoimmune but all test come back negative. I have a cyst in my pituitary gland that was tested to make sure it wasn’t the reason behind all my hives. Everyday I’m in constant pain and it keeps me from living my life. Some mornings it’s so bad I can’t go to work. The weight gain has cause me to lose all my self confidence. It’s living in the unknown that gets to me.
