- CASE FILE
I have been diagnosed with episodic cluster headaches. The pain is so intense they are also known as suicide headaches, I wish I could die.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am seeking a public and broad medical education/acknowledgment of my and thousands of other people’s condition globally. The pain that accompanies this diagnosis is catastrophic and in no way is it accurately reflected in its name. The words headache or migrraine are laughable. People are suffering pain that is worse than labor, delivery, kidney stones combined focused on only one side of the head repeatedly, multiple times during a 24 hour period, for days, weeks or months on end... even years. There is so little information regarding this condition it is minimized, misdiagnosed and WE, as suffers, have to convince and beg for relief. I happen to find a neurologist (after 10 years of suffering) who supported my self-diagnosis and prescribed medication and oxygen. My insurance covers it all. My hope is that a true understanding of the torture that this condition brings could help 1000’s of other get the relief they willing beg for and that someone will attempt to find even a cause. Perhaps acknowledging, treating with an educated compassion will promote a drive to find a cure but most importantly, RELIEF from the excruciating pain that has each of us suffers wishing we could just die instead of facing and enduring another cluster. I beg you to address this topic.
