ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
In April 2018 I started having trouble keeping food down, suddenly. I thought I had food poisoning. Then came a loss of appetite. Then noticed that I can eat and 3-7 hours later throw up, and it still looks and tastes the same. After about a week I saw my PCP we did an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have an obstruction, everything came back clear. Given meds, mainly Zofran. I was having troubles keeping food and water down. I also started getting sharp, shooting pains in my abdomen usually towards the upper abdomen. Asked my PCP to be tested for H. Pylori, as I've had it in the past, before I scheduled with a GI doc. That came back normal. I then saw my GI. Started with an endoscopy. Everything looked normal. Symptoms continued and I was losing more and more weight. I have had a CT scan done, looked normal. Had my gallbladder bladder checked with ultrasound a few times and a hide a scan. No gall stones. My gall bladder's ejection rate was 97%. Had an MRI that showed some narrowing of the duodenum, and another endoscopy was recommended. Did the endoscopy no issue was detected and was told by my gastroenterologist that whatever it is it has nothing to do with my digestive system and was sent on my way. By this point I had lost 40 pounds in less than 6 months and still had no answers. I went back to my PCP in tears begging to start looking at autoimmune disorders. We ran the in depth tests to look for markers. I came back with the inflammation marker scoring high and was referred to a surgeon. Surgeon told me my gall bladder was over functioning, and we should remove it. Gall bladder was removed in October of 2018, 6 months after onset of symptoms and 50 pounds weightloss. 3 weeks after surgery went to ER due to uncontrollable vomiting, and pain so bad I couldnt stand. Again, all regular labs came back normal. CT scan showed my large intestine was so packed on right side it was double the size. Was referred to a new GI doctor. Told them I was still having issues with nausea and vomiting and what was seen on CT scan. I also told my new doctor about throwing up food hours later. We ran a battery of labs again looking for cancer markers. I again came back with the inflammation marker even after surgery. Also gastric emptying study was ordered and came back normal. I have to be on intermittent FMLA because there are days it's gotten so bad I can't function. I have managed to slow down the weightloss, but need to find something. I sometimes feel like I'm crazy because on paper I'm perfectly healthy, but there is something physically wrong with me, but have come up with no answers yet.
