- CASE FILE
10 years of chronic pain, depression and anxiety. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia but symptoms came after a birth control shot and flu symptoms.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Almost 10 years ago I had a Depo Provera shot and for the next 3 months I had flu symptoms. Low grade fever, muscle and joint pain, swelling of joints, extreme fatigue and nausea. After 3 months the fever and nausea stopped
but everything else stayed. After going to my doctor and being referred to a few different specialists I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have tried every anti-inflammatory medication, a few different antidepressants...almost anything in ng the doctors could think of for fibromyalgia. The only thing that has helped my pain is pain killers. I'm a single mother to a 10 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. I lost my daughter in a custody battle because my symptoms were so severe that I couldn't fight it. My 3 year old is with me but I am afraid that things could progress and I won't be able to raise him. I also have been unable to work because I can't keep up with other employees and would be fired. I've also suffered from memory problems and brain fog since the onset of symptoms. I want my life back...I want to work and be able to play with my son and be the mother he deserves.
