ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I'm a Type 1 diabetic for 41 years. I've always had to deal with medical issues. I'm a very brittle diabetic and that has lead to retinopathy, peripheral neuropathy. I've had laser surgery on my eyes and several endoscopic procedures. The last two EGDs did not show gastroperesis. I have severe daytime sleepiness and dependent edema that cost me a job I loved. I've been on oxygen for 6 years and nobody knows why. I've been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and chronic hypoxic respiratory failure and morbid obesity. I've gained 150 lbs in 6 years and am not able to lose weight despite Nutrisystem, Slim Fast and many diets from gluten free vegan to restricted calorie diabetic diets. I bloat terribly and have constant nausea and constipation. I take 26 pills a day. I have bipolar 2 disorder and chronic anxiety with insomnia. In April I had sudden onset of knee pain that was so bad I went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital for 4 days. I left using a walker and still in pain. My hair has been falling out by the handful over the last year, but my thyroid tests are normal on Synthetic. I'm now in stage 3a of kidney failure and I'm supposed to be limiting my use of NSAIDs, but I live on Naproxen for the constant joint and back pain. I need help because I've lost my quality of life. I live with and take care of my mom who has Alzheimer's Disease, but doesn't accept it. I've been told by two of my doctor's that I need to make arrangements to provide care for Mom, in case I did before her.
