ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I’m 41 and have had severe resistant hypertension for over 25 years as high as 255/160 with no reasons why. In the last 10 years I’ve been suffering from debilitating migraines with little relief. I’ve been told by several Doctors that on paper I’m healthy as a horse but my blood pressure is crazy. About 3 years ago I had a G.I. Bleed and due to my BP I couldn’t have any invasive tests to determine cause. Two months later I had a Gallbladder attack again due to my BP I couldn’t get treatment for that either. 2 years ago I went from no signs of kidney problems to Stage 3-4 CKD in a 3 month period I’ve been told I have thickening of the heart wall, severe hypokalemia, and recently I had a minor stroke leaving me with nerve damage and numbness on the left side of my body which has compromised my ability to work. I’ve sought treatment at The Hospital at University of Penn in Philadelphia, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, the Mayo Clinic Rochester MN and still no diagnosis or effective treatment that doesn’t have its share of side effects.
