Sick for 10 plus years, I have pancreatitis, active EBV, active Cytomegalovirus and positive ANA. I need help!
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am submitting my medical problems in hopes someone out there can help. I have been married for 24 years to a great man who has stood by me through all of this. I am a 51-year-old female mother of 3 and grandmother of 4. I have been very sick for the past 15-20 years despite countless doctors and specialist I have never found an answer. Once I was an avid gardener, My husband and I would spend all day going to antique shops and flea markets, we would go on bicycle rides, go camping and hiking. I love the outdoors and I just do not have the energy to even go to the grocery. A few years ago I was be able to push myself do to those things and then I would need to “reset” for a few days to get my body back on line, but now my health has been getting increasingly worse over the past three years and those things are now impossible for me to do. It is now to the point that I fear worse things are on the horizon from me if I cannot figure out what is wrong. I just beat breast cancer this year and thought ok maybe after this I can start living again. I really felt the best I had in years while I was going through chemotherapy. Once I started radiation slowly all of my old symptoms came back but worse. We feel that there is something lying at the root of all of my problems, but the doctors are not looking at me as a whole. They are focused on their area of expertise and not how all of this is linked. Is the EBV causing my all of the other problems? Do I have MS? What ever it is it is slowly killing me? Please help me find out what is going on before its too late.
My downward spiral started out with pancreatitis 25 years ago, and I would get sick almost every time we went out to eat. Then I started having problems with my bowels. I was either constipated or diarrhea. My immune system has always seemed weak as I would come down with whatever the kids brought home from school. Roughly 10 years ago I found an article on celiac disease and the symptoms matched me to a T. I went gluten free and within few weeks my symptoms where improving. So I continued with the diet and became healthier though still struggled with fatigue. My gall bladder was part of the problem and was removed. Coincidentally around the same time as going gluten free my 14-year-old daughter caught Mono. I took care of her and very soon I was also down with it. Both of us were on the couch for a few weeks. Since that time Me and Sadie’s health have been rocky. I continued to struggle with fatigue for years. After many different doctors and specialists, they labeled me with Fibromyalgia as nothing else “fit” protocols for diagnosis. In 2016 I had cystocele and rectocele repair surgery. Once recovered from the surgery I continued to struggle and finally was so frustrated with the doctors I sought the help of an Integrative medical Doctor in 2017. He ran many tests, tests that the other doctors would not or could not perform and checked her DNA. The Doctor found she had active EBV and CMV infections as well as low immune responses. He started her on a regime of supplements, thymosin and HGH injections to get her immune system built back up to suppress the EBV and CMV. In November of 2018 I found a lump in my right breast. Sure enough it was Triple Negative Breast cancer. A lumpectomy, four rounds of chemotherapy and 30rounds of radiation I was declared cancer free. During Chemotherapy I had some rough days but over all I felt better during chemotherapy than I had felt in years. In june I was declared cancer free. All through cancer treatments I was able to maintain my weight within 1-2 pounds. Since July my weight has dropped from 135 to 122. August I went to the orthopeadic for my knee hurting. The MRI's shown something on the end of femur in the area that is typical for breast cancer mestatasizing to. Another MRI and PET scan did show that I was still cancer free but there was still something wrong with my leg. The Ortho referred my to a Bone Tumor Specialist at UK hospital. His review of the scans diagnosed me with bone infarcts related to chemo therapy. In between all of those visits I also had a pancreatic attack. This resulted in A CT scan and an MRCP to look at my digetsive system. The scans shown swelling of the pancreas and some fluid on my right kidney. Since nothing was found I was sent to UK for an EUS of my pancreas. It did not show anything abnormal. Two days after teh procedure I was back in the ER for soemthing like an asthma attack. They said it was espoghial / bronchial spasms, X-ray was clear. Gave me a breathing treatment and kept me over night. I am still having a tightness in my chest.
