ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome sometime ago (2010) then told I didn’t have it (2011), then diagnosed again last year with it. I was given Salagen for the mouth dryness which helps with swallowing food. Meanwhile the rest of my body is suffering. I have so much pain and everyday it’s something new. I cannot get answers. My hands hurt so bad. My right leg turns white and gets cold. They have done an ultrasound and ruled out vascular problems so the doctors have just given up on trying to find answers. I cannot possibly list ALL of the things I have been through the past 10 years. I have been seen for hundreds of different things. Muscle pain, skin pain, joint pain, cramps, rashes, GI issues, dizziness, shortness of breath, sores, swollen lymph nodes etc. My rheumatologist only runs labs yearly to check for lymphoma, but the rest of the year I feel like I’m getting sicker. I’d like to know if there is a specialist that can do something more for Sjogrens. What can be done? I’m afraid to make plans, I cannot go back to work. Everyday is a gamble. I never know what each day or hour will bring.
