ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (1995) after multiple infections and antibiotics. The pain was severe and generalized. I have a herniated disc -spinal- and sciatica pinching/pain with spasms and muscle pain/weakness in legs. Flares of fibromyalgia are severe and debilitating. Due to obesity I had gastric bypass and was in a comma for a week due to steroid allergy and lost mobility/functionality. Soon developed edema in my legs now to the point of weeping at times. Recent diagnoses mitochondrial dysfunction and Rheumatoid arthritis- which add to the pain levels. Recently, started Humira. I eat very little but my weight does not go down-it goes up the more I eat. My mobility has been limited due to comma, pain and other limitations. I have a diagnosis of hypothyroid and take Synthroid. I am told my levels are low but within normal range (TSH, T4 etc.) I eat very little and only lost 80# after bypass. With all these problems the weight issues are causing more frustration because loosing weight (according to my drs) will help decrease pain levels, enable me to have back surgery, and make me have a better sense of well being.
