In 2018, I began having"spells" during activity that include tachycardia, chest pain and projectile vomiting that persist despite treatments
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am a 46 year old female. In October of 2018, I began having a non-productive cough with excessive mucus in my lungs and breathing passages. This progressed quickly to increased heart rate, nausea, chest pain and pressure, upper abdominal pain, excessive sweating, muscle weakness, and projectile vomiting anytime I'm active. I have seen my primary practitioner, a cardiologist, a rheumatologist, an ENT, a gastroenterologist, and a pulmonologist. I have received several different diagnoses, but none of them explain all of the symptoms which I think are connected because they started around the same time. My primary practitioner couldn't figure it out, so he referred me to the specialists. I have had multiple cardiac procedures and tests, and they showed no heart problems. The ENT only tested me for allergies which came back negative, and he put me on singulair. The pulmonologist diagnosed me with eosinophilic asthma, but my bloodwork never showed increased eosinophils. He put me on nucala injections, but I was still having the same symptoms after 6 months of the injections. The rheumatologist diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis and put me on plaquenil, but this diagnosis didn't explain any of my symptoms. The gastroenterologist performed an EGD and said some of my symptoms could be coming from a previous surgery I had called a vertical banded gastroplasty I had in 2001. The mesh band has erroded into my stomach wall and caused a large ulcer and extreme gastritis. He placed me on prilosec and said the band needs to be removed. He has contacted multiple surgeons, but none of them in the state of Mississippi, Tennessee, or most of Alabama will take my case because of the risks and difficulty of the surgery due to scar tissue from several gastric surgeries. My symptoms persist. I can't take care of my 3 year old grandbaby now. I rarely leave my house anymore because of my symptoms, especially the projectile vomiting. It's hard to even go shopping if you can't stop throwing up. I just want my life back...please help.
