- CASE FILE
Chronic chest pain with random heart attack like symptoms for about 9 years.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
9 years ago while watching TV, I started having severe chest pains which lead to difficulty taking a deep breath. The ED doctors concluded there was no issue with my heart or lungs, gave me morphine and shortly sent me on my way. The attack lasted about 1 hour before being drugged. From then on, there have been random attacks with high intensity. My PCP tentatively diagnosed costochondritis, put me on gabapentin for pain but did not resolve the pain or attacks. He then prescribed hydrocodone, 3x a day for 2 months. This made me unable to work and make a living. I then saw a spine specialist, no diagnosis. Neurologist, no diagnosis. Gastroenterologist, no diagnosis. OB-GYN, no diagnosis. Physical therapist, no diagnosis. Chiropractor specializing in Atlas injuries, found an atlas injury but attacks still occurred. At this point, I can't replicate the issue, it happens randomly and I have chronic pain in my back, side and sternum that gets better and worse depending on the day. It is affecting my daily life, I am terrified of the attacks because of the level of pain. I don't want to have to "just get through the day" anymore. Please help me.
