ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
OTHER Diagnoses and symptoms: demyelinating disease of spinal chord (diagnosed with MS 6 years, recently revised), severe defecatory dysfunction, redundant colon, GERD, IBS, peptic ulcer, esophagitis, Duputrens contracture, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, optic neuritis, reactive hypoglycemia, SVT,TIA. Extensive surgeries: 5 spinal fusions, bilateral knee replacements, 3 trigger finger release/revision, numerous arthroscopies, many more. ** The current mystery started in January 2018. I noticed 4 distinct indentations in my upper left arm. Around the same time I was feeling pretty lousy, exhausted, achy, abdominal pain, bloating, I lost at least half of my hair. I saw my primary care who sent me to a dermatologist for a biopsy and a rheumatologist for a complete workup. I continued to develop more indentations on both legs, arms and face. I noticed a large increase in abdominal fat and was having worsening reactive hypoglycemia and increasing fasting glucose. I have since seen an endocrinologist, another rheumatologist, a rheumatologist/dermatologist for a second biopsy (She said it was a reaction to a steroid injection in my neck 2 1/2 years prior. She discounted the additional areas of indentations and sent me on my way). I am now seeing a neuro endocrinologist who is considering Acquired Lipodystrophy.
