In 2009 I was in a serious car accident, most of the pain in my neck is from that accident. Originally most of the pain in my shoulders was also from that accident, now myself & my doctor are not completely sure.
5 yrs ago I got sick with what turned out to be a severe bacterial stomach issue, I saw a gastroenterologist who performed a scope, & a colonoscopy he found a few polyp, removed them, they were benign, and diagnosed me with IBSD. Then my symptoms started, I went to the ED because I couldn't breath, they ran tests the big sign was my SedRate was high, we thought it was from the accident so I went home. I went to my GP a few months later because by then I started loosing my hair, gaining weight, having extreme swelling in my hands & feet, extreme exhaustion, dry mouth, ringing in my ears, insomnia, brain fog, excessive sweating, low grade fever, dry skin, problems with my finger nails. I went to my GP she did full work up looking for lupus & hypothyroidism the tests came out negative. I talked to my pain doctor who recommended an endocrinologist. I wasn't giving up because alot of my symptoms point to Hypothyroidism which my sister has. This doctor agrees that I probably do have that but my numbers aren't where they need to be for treatment. I was put on Victoza just as a trial I don't have diabetes but to see if I would lose weight which I did, I responded well to it. We had to stop because the company stopped sending samples, I immediately gained the weight back. I went to the first Rheumatologist who told me I probably need to consider therapy incase they don't find anything. I never went back, I now have a new rheumatologist who has diagnosed me with negative factor RA so obviously it wasn't all in my mind. I do have the RA symptoms but there are so many others I am being treated with Methotrexate but I'm only a month in, the first 2 medications did not work and the joints in my fingers are starting to move. I also have night sweats, little to no menstruation but I take birth control for the estrogen so we aren't sure if it is part of it. Extreme irritability, cannot concentrate, I have ringing in my ears, I was able to maintain my range of motion from my accident and I'm now going backwards. I also have low grade fevers, profuse sweating, low libido, trouble breathing while doing what used to be moderate activity, numbness in my hands, peri-menopause, snoring. Even after my accident I maintained an active life, yoga, exercise, gardening, lots of walking, now I feel like a 70 year old trapped in a 47 year old body. I know nothing can fix my accident issue, I've had surgery this I can accept, but the hell I've gone through for the last 5 years I can't accept I just need answers.
