ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Progressive muscle atrophy beginning in the hands then arms, feet, and legs. It began in September of 2012 and has progressed consistently, and more rapidly in the last year. After extensive testing and IVIG treatment, doctors began genetic testing, which yielded a mutation in the vcp chromosome, which is the gene responsible for genetic ALS. Neurologist have confirmed I do not have ALS. There is no name for my very rare disease.
