- CASE FILE
I have had a headache (not migraine) 24/7 for over 11 years. I have tried many types of medications and treatments to no avail.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
On April 6, 2008 I developed a sudden, severe headache accompanied with nausea. It was discovered that I had a brain tumor growing underneath my pituitary gland and there were signs that it had begun hemorrhaging. The surgeon thought that once the tumor was removed my headache would go away. The tumor was removed but my headache continued. The pain is a heavy pressure feeling constantly on the top, center of my head. Subsequently I endured breast cancer (2009) and another brain tumor in my 4th ventricle (2011), which was benign and removed. Dealing with these other issues had only aggravated my headache pain.
I have been to many neurologists, some of which have said, in so many words, "don't come back; I don't know what to do for you." I have been through a myriad of tests with no viable results. I have tried all types of medications, acupuncture, chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy, medical marijuana, Botox, nerve blocks, multitude of injections and anything else I can find. I am happy to be a guinea pig for anyone who may have a possible cure!!!
I sleep with ice packs on my head because they help numb the pain. I am currently on narcotic pain medication as nothing else has helped. I am on disability as I cannot work; I never know if I'm going to have a "good" day which is being in pain but its tolerable or if I'll be in bed with debilitating pain. I am a single mom to a wonderful boy who has literally saved my life. Many times I have wanted to end my life just to end the pain, but I will not do that to my son.
