ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was Diagnosed with GBS ( Guillain - Barre' Syndrome In Jan. 2015- Presented with flu like symptoms, began losing strength in legs and arms followed by severe pain. Treated for GBS and spent over a month in the hospital and rehab hospital. Upon discharge, symptoms were under control, However still very weak and dealing with severe pain, leading to the use of walkers for short distance and a Wheelchair for most ambulation outside of the home. Nov. 2015 saw a new Neurologist, followed by countless tests arriving at a diagnosis of CIDP ( chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy.) Still dealing with severe pain and weakness in the lower extremities with areas of numbness. Treated for CIDP for 2 1/2 years every 12 days. IVIG Infusions would take anywhere from 8 -13 Hours, Given in hospital. Early Summer 2018 a second opinion from another Neurologist, he found a area in my spine where there is impingement on my spinal cord. Referred to a Neurosurgeon, after several images and test the Neurosurgeon believed the risks of surgery were greater than possible outcomes due to where the impingement is and the difficulty of the procedure. I started seeing a Rheumatologist under referral from my PCP. After a ton of tests he diagnosed me with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. I have had two large areas on my right leg where lesions had developed that turned into necrotic tissue. Which then had to be removed through different dressings, then new skin grown with the aid of a collagen infused material. I have also been diagnosed with Liver cirrhosis ( non alcoholic ), Bowel issues, Type 2 Diabetes ( under control) Hypothyroidism, and Vasculitis. Not to mention other things popping up and complicating life.
