ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My 1st medical mystery is the dry hacking cough. There are no warning signs, it just happens. It has gotten worse since my return from the Gulf War and none of the doctors in this area have been able to come up with a diagnosis. My family and I have been dealing with this for almost 28 years. I've had test ran on my lungs, nose and throat and they have all came up as normal. A cough this long is not normal. Another medical mystery is the loss of my hair. After the Gulf War, my hair would come out by the roots during combing. The "Other" above is: Gastroesophageal reflux disease, (Gerd) I also have Degenerative Joint Disease. My shoulder and ankle are in constant pain. Also, I've been recently diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel in both wrists..... The impact that these mysterious conditions are having on my life, is that I offten worry if there is something seriously wrong that undetected would bring me more harm later on in life. The coughing is embarrassing, especially in public. I get the felling that people think I may be contagious. The hair loss is obvious. They say a woman's hair is her Crown to Glory. My faith realizes that my soul is what matters. But having a pretty head of hair won't hurt either.
