ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am 18 years old. When I was 14 years old I got Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac Disease. Months ago my body started burning with pain around my underarms. The pain quickly spread to my legs, arms and feet. I have limited mobility and am in a wheelchair now. Mayo Clinic Phoenix diagnosed small fiber neuropathy but the pain is all over my body is unbearable....inhumane to live with. I also have guillain barre syndrome, gastroparesis, POTS, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome associated with dysautonomia, anemia, weight loss of 20 pounds in 4 months and constipation. I have tried multiple treatments of steroids, pills, biopsies, acupuncture, chiropractor and even resorted to medical marijuana, yet nothing is getting better. My pain especially is unbearable. I'm in bed, rolled up in a ball, screaming, crying all day and night. I sleep 2 hours here and there. I just want my life to be pain free, to stop fainting and to be able to leave my house. Test results found a fracture Lumbar Fifth Closed Initial L5 left side pars defect. Could this be causing pain all over my body? Was I misdiagnosed? Mayo Clinic Phoenix has no new treatments to offer, and has no resolve. Should I go somewhere else? Am I stuck living like this the rest of my life? I'm waiting for insurance to approve IVIG therapy. Will that help?
