- CASE FILE
I've had pain in my upper right abdomen for about 3 years. Gallbladder has been ruled out. I've been told it is Bile Reflux, no cure.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I have had pain in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen since August of 2017. I have had numerous tests including 2 HIDA tests and an upper GI endoscopy. Gallbladder function is well within the normal range. No one found anything during the first HIDA and nothing with the endoscopy. During the second HIDA test, the radiologist found that I had bile reflux. The doctor then put me on 20 mg of Pepcid twice a day. The medication helped at first, but is starting to not be as effective. I am in pain most times, and is sometimes very severe. It has limited my abilities to do daily activities, especially when the pain is intolerable and limits my physical activity, because moving makes it worse.
