ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
In 2017 I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my portal and mesenteric veins. I was 28 years old. I have seen numerous world class doctors here in Boston and they have been unable to pin down an explanation. I have had abdominal pain and chest pains continuously since the incident (not before). The pains are so bad they wake me up at night, cause me to spring up from rest to alleviate...have brought me to the emergency room at least twice in two years only to be told it's not serious. I have gotten no answers besides ruling out very specific threats, cancer, diabetes, select genetic screenings etc. I have been put on Eliquis to aid in preventing another clot...and am told I'll be on it for life. This is quite depressing to me as it limits my enjoyment of life...My pain is impacting my life, limiting the time I can sit in meetings, present at work or sit focused on a task. I have a plethora of medical documentation and imaging to support my history.
Since the incident I have adjusted my lifestyle, incorporated more activity and lost over 50lbs. My efforts have been substantial and no progress on these pains has been made.
