Vision loss in one and both eyes in the past. Optic Neuritis with an unknown cause. Do I really have Devic’s Disease?
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Ten years ago I had my first bout of bilateral optic neuritis. The next was right around the corner about 3 months later. I felt good and in the clear until last week when the preemptive eye pain with movement started again. At the recommendation of my PCP I went to an Opthalmologist who stated they could not start treatment until I had vision loss. Sunday the vision loss started and it took me 9 hours in the ER to get my first infusion of Solu-Medrol. I now have received a coarse of 5 infusions and my vision is still blurry. The doctors are at a loss what is causing the intermittent reoccurring optic neuritis??
