ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My mom was first diagnosed with Multiple System Atropy (MSA) in 2016. She got a second opinion and has now been diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). First symptoms started in 2016 with loss of balance and falling. Then progressed to difficulty walking, slurred speech, loss of concentration, crying a lot, loss of motor skills, bladder control, constantly moving and screaming in her sleep. She had to stop working in 2017. She now needs help with every day living and cannot walk, has very bad slurred speech and sometimes chokes on water or food. Her doctor has put her on parkinsons medication (Carbidopa) which helps a little with standing and walking with assistance but she has a lot of side effects from.
