- CASE FILE
My husband has suffered from chronic hiccups, vomiting, spasms, weight loss, and bloating.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I come to you today to seek help for my husband's condition. My husband has endured chronic hiccups for the past 4 years. They are constant and continuous. He often suffers from spasms that cause him to stop breathing. He vomits everyday (several times), acid re-flux and has bloating that is extremely painful. He has a hard time holding a conversation as, the hiccups interrupt continuously. His job requires him to talk to patients and staff. He has lost 30 lbs in less than a month. He has been to three gastroenterology doctors, including a professor at Texas Tech University, a Neurologist, a Neurosurgeon and his regular doctor. No one can find a cure. He has also been diagnosed with gastroparesis and they have found bacteria in his stomach. One doctor commented that there is very little success with chronic hiccups. We even saw a doctor in Mexico (another Gastro) which suggested injecting the vagus nerve to relax it. We did not go through with that procedure. Prescribed antibiotics and numerous medication for the symptoms which have not worked for the vomiting or hiccups. We are desperate for a cure or even a method to help minimize the vomiting and the hiccups. An answer that would improve his quality of life, so he may continue the job that he loves, enjoy his children and grandchildren would be a huge blessing for our family. We ask that you PLEASE take on his case and help us find a cure. I thank you in advance and pray I hear from you soon.
