Suffering with Chronic Neck and Mid Back Pain along with left leg and foot. Multiple Cervical Spine, thoracic and brachial plexus surgeries
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
In 2007 I was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome on the right side. I had Brachial Plexus surgery January 2008 (scalenectomy). Immediately following the surgery I was having severe mid back pain and difficulty urinating. I was sent for an MRI and it was discovered that I had severe spinal cord compression at T10/11. I had decompression spine surgery June 2008. My health declined and I was having difficulty functioning. I was admitted into Hahnemann Hospital in 2008 and then diagnosed with CRPS Type 2 by Dr. Schwartzman. I was admitted into the ketamine program and received outpatient infusions as well as inpatient 24/7 ketamine for 7 days. I was better off and on. I was prescribed morphine for pain and was on it for roughly 4 years. I re marreid and moved to Hawaii and finding medical care was difficult. I tried everything on my own to get better and get off the medications. I went through a divorce and moved to South Florida where I am originally from. I was having issues but fought my way through them until I was a victim of a hit and run accident. A high speed police chase took place and the stolen vehicle they were pursuing ran a red light and hit my car head on. I was injured and had cervical fusion done C5/6 April 2017. Months following the surgery I was complaining of feeling sick, having trouble breathing, double vision, and severe burning pain in my neck. The Neurosurgeon felt it was post op related and I knew something was wrong. I broke out in rashes and was told I had shingles and allergic reactions. I had burning pain and rash then was down my spine. I found my way to a different Neurosurgeon who felt it may be an allergic reaction to the metal implant. I had blood tests done and confirmed that indeed it was an allergic reaction and I was scheduled for emergency surgery to remove the implant. The surgeon said the fusion was solid but there was reactive tissue around the area of the fusion. I was also told that I had severe nerve and cord compression in the level below and needed more surgery. The implant was removed August 2018 and then I had posterior bi lateral laminoforaminotomy done November 2, 2018. I haven't been right since that surgery. I lost my job, my life, my ability to function. I have severe pain in my neck, thoracic spine, left leg and left foot. I have difficulty walking, double vision, constant severe ringing in my ears, hand pain, weakness in all limbs now, and doctors either wanting to guess at a diagnosis or not listening. I am in need of help! I lost my health insurance and can't get to the right doctors (I don't even know who the right ones would be), can't get tests done and so I'm left in limbo with my health declining rapidly. Please help! I am turning 47 October 13th, and I feel more like 87. I cry every day now and want to give up. I need help and a treatment plan so I can get my life back.
