continuous isometric muscle contractions
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My body is continuously "tensed up". Face, neck, lower back, legs (lower legs especially), feet. I have exceptional muscle tone, despite being to tired to work out. Occurs during sleep. Suspected movement disorder, but specialist says no. MRI of head and neck, normal but for some cervical disc issues most likely from a car accident in the early 90's. EMG normal. Suspected autoimmune, anti GAD was negative. History of hyperthyroidism with nodules. Thyroidectomy . Hyperparathyroidism, Hypercalcemia . Parathyroidectomy (one removed). Parathyroid hormone and calcium, still slightly elevated. 40 pound weight loss over the last 8 months. Progressively worse as the day progresses, by the end of the day legs are so stiff I feel very clumsy. If I do to much during the day, that evening I get sharp shooting pains in my legs for about 30 minutes to an hour. I continually try to relax, but they just tighten back up.
