Getting migraines and heartburn at the same time once a month like clockwork. Usually lasts 3-5 days.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
About once a month, seemingly out of nowhere, I'll get a migraine accompanied by heartburn. I don't get migraines or heartburn individually, nor have I ever. The only time I experience one, the other happens simultaneously and this started happening around a year ago. im 28 years old, athletic body build, overall good health. My diet isn't amazing, but it's not terrible. There is no major dietary patterns I have observed that trigger these "attacks" for lack of a better term. The heartburn is pretty strong, tums don't help, it takes zantac 150 with a half dozen full strength tums and still the heartburn returns. Its outright painful at times, food helps relieve the heartburn for about 30 minutes but it keeps returning. The worst part is the migraine. Even if I relieve the actual headpain, which by itself isn't terrible, I can still feel something is amiss and it really drains me. I feel nausea, no energy, overall feeling of malaise, light triggers nausea and hot flashes so do noises. Sometimes this lasts for up to a week. Then I'll feel fine for 30-45 days before it happens again. Anyone else ever experience this? Help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to add one additional observation. When this issue first began around a year ago, I observed these symptoms were always accompanied by a canker sore... But what I found odd was sometimes the canker sore was a result of me biting my lip, sometimes the sore came out of nowhere... But there was no question that there was some relation between the canker sore(s) and the heartburn/migraines. The last 2 or 3 months I haven't experienced any canker sores and the fatigue seems to not be as bad, however, the heartburn is getting progressively worse each time. Again, my diet and water intake is consistent, I've kept a journal of what I eat and there is no common denominator I can see.
