I have over 25 brain lesions, seizures, migraines, misdiagnosed w/ MS for 4 years, currently no known cause, medication does not help
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Diagnosed in 2014 with MS and complex partial seizures with secondary generalized seizures, and migraines I’ve had since my teenage years. In 2018 my MS doctor left the area and the new neurologist decided it was not MS after all, but said something was wrong with me except he didn’t know what. They say I have refractory seizures since no medications seem to control them. I’ve seen many physicians over the years, but none have dived deep to find a cause, rather they just focus on the symptoms. I’ve had 2 spinal taps (came back negative), multiple MRIs, multiple EEGs that show some seizure activity, but no seizures caught during them, left side slowness and disfunction, and blood work done. My speech and cognitive function has deteriorated over the years. Sometimes my speech is slurred, I have trouble processing thoughts, conversations, my own speech, memory, it’s awful. I have terrible fatigue daily. Im so unpredictable and such a hazard/liability, that I am not able to work more than 12-17hrs a week at this point. Some days I am in pain all over my body, my skin hurts to the touch, but no idea why. My seizures have come on while driving, in my sleep, while working, at any time even with medication treatment. My brain lesions are greater than 25 with two big ones apparently, cause unknown. I’ve lost hours of time in some episodes with no memory of what’s happened and no explaination. I keep being told I’m an anomaly, but I would really like to find a cause so I can get my life back.
