ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am a 56 year old married mother of 2 and grandmother to 1. In 2004 I was given an award from Governor of VA for my work in helping uninsured children have healthcare -The award was Superhealthcare Hero award. Through my employer then CHIP of Roanoke. This work was life changing for me and rewarding beyond words to my spirit .
In 2005 my migraines started to increase to almost 15 a month. I continued to work and my PCP requested an MRI of my neck and started me on blood pressure meds as my Bp was high now . I was 44 then. The insurance denied my Drs request. In 2006 I was working and had been having light tingling in my left arm..this all led to a surgery on my neck -my first one anyway and I woke in recovery with more pain burning down my left arm. I lost my job a few months afterwards as they said I had RSD at the time . I have had many surgeries since then .
Many medications —tons of injections ..therapy ..I continued to get my life back . Chronic pain is life changing
It is the opinion in the last 6 months that I have an autonomic nervous system disorder but in order to treat it we need to know what the root cause and treat that . Also we need a dr that can figure that out and treat it. I’ve been told my body goes into a reactive state and it’s like it gets stuck in flight and fight mode.
I would give anything to really to get to the bottom of what’s causing this and get my life back . I’ve lost so much time just being me and not believing that pain and suffering for me -is my new norm and it’s like breathing .
I believe and have faith that there has to be someone that can really help not send me down another dead end road .
I fought for many to have the hope of health care —I’ve tried hard to fight for me —being considered disabled due to chronic pain seems like a prison sentence
But I get up every day and hope that maybe the next appt will hold the answer
